Day One Care
The first 1-3 days after getting a tattoo is crucial for the healing process.
-
Keep the wrap on your new tattoo for at least 1 hour or until your tattoo has stopped bleeding or weeping. Ideally the wrap should be removed 2-3 hours after the completion of your tattoo.
-
When you remove the wrap, wash your tattoo with warm soapy water (only use neutral soaps or an antibacterial tattoo cleaning foam) with a light circular motion to remove excess plasma and dried blood. DO NOT SCRUB YOUR NEW TATTOO (it will hurt too much to do this anyway)
Pat dry (avoid rubbing) with paper towel and allow to air out.
Remember to avoid touching your new tattoo without washing your hands first and don't let anyone else touch your healing tattoo.
TIP 1: Use clean sheets that you don't care too much for to sleep on as your new tattoo can potentially stain them.
TIP 2: Your tattoo may stain your clothing initially, so we recommend wearing dark loose-fitting clothing for the first few days. If your tattoo gets stuck to your clothing apply some water to your clothing to allow it to come free. Do not pull it off dry.
In the first 2-3 days the tattooed area should be treated like an open wound. So, you have to keep it clean and be extra careful to avoid infection.
Day 2 - 14
-
Wash your tattoo at least once a day using warm soapy water or antibacterial tattoo cleaning foam then pat it dry using paper towel (be sure to discard used paper towel properly) or if you are using a clean towel be sure to put it straight in the wash and do not share that towel with anyone.
-
After the tattooed area is dried properly apply a thin layer of tattoo aftercare balm up to 2 times a day. A thin layer is all you need, avoid clumping it on.
-
Do not soak your tattoo in any body of water; avoid baths, swimming, spas etc. until your tattoo is fully healed as there is a high risk of infection during the healing period. Showering is fine.
TIP: Avoid having your shower too hot as this can be painful on a freshly tattooed area.
-
Avoid direct sun exposure

Special care tips
-
Over the healing process your tattoo will form a thin scab and will be itchy, this is a normal part of the healing process. Do not pick or scratch at your new tattoo as this can pull the ink out and affect the outcome of your tattoo.
-
You may experience some swelling in the tattooed area initially, if this is uncomfortable you can wrap your tattoo with clean cling wrap and apply an ice pack (be sure to wrap the ice pack in a towel and don't apply directly to the skin)
